Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, with a central black enameled mobile swastika, within a gilt ring inscribed DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER (TO THE GERMAN MOTHER), with radiant designs between the quadrants, the reverse with an etched institution date of
